Luca Bormolini: New Consultant Coach for Kazakhstan’s Youth and Junior Biathlon Teams

Who is Luca Bormolini?
Luca Bormolini is known for making history. People call him a coach who can find and train champions in places where no one expects them. He has worked with young athletes and world-class professionals.
Under his leadership, Campbell Wright won a gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Shchuchinsk—the first-ever victory of this level for New Zealand. Today, Campbell is a world biathlon star and a leader of the US national team. Luca has also worked with strong teams from South Korea and the Czech Republic, leading the Czech team to a World Championship gold in Switzerland.
Why is he joining Kazakhstan?
Kazakhstan has worked with Luca before. Last year, he helped with the "Grand Tour Biathlon" project, which finds talented kids across the country to build a future for the sport. Now, the first graduates of that project are joining the youth national team. Hiring Luca at this stage is a strategic move to help these young athletes transition from kids' sports to the professional elite.
His work will focus on three main areas:
Guiding young talents: Helping the "Grand Tour Biathlon" graduates prepare for the main national team.
Olympic Goals (French Alps 2030): Preparing today’s teenagers to become leaders for the 2030 Winter Olympics in France.
Training local coaches: Luca will teach young Kazakhstani coaches modern international methods and training techniques.
The Kazakhstan Biathlon Union believes that bringing in an international expert like Luca Bormolini is a big step toward making Kazakhstan's team competitive on the global stage and winning more medals in the future.
