10 million tenge for regions, prizes from Yerbol Khamitov and Crystal Trophies: GRAND TOUR BIATHLON Final in Astana

We, at the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union are proud to finish the third season of the GRAND TOUR BIATHLON-our main project for helping young talents grow. It was an exciting year with five stages, where our young biathletes gained great competition experience and built strong character.

The final in Astana was a true highlight. Throughout the season and at the final stage, we awarded money certificates totaling 10 million tenge, crystal trophies, yellow leader bibs and great prizes.

Our competition took place all across the country and kept growing: starting in Ridder, we moved to Kostanay, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk and finished with the final in Astana. The stage in Petropavlovsk set a record with 209 young athletes. The final in Astana welcomed representatives from 12 regions of Kazakhstan.

We always try to motivate our best athletes. For three years in a row, we give the winners of the three winter stages a chance to travel to Norway for the Liatoppen festival-the biggest international children's biathlon event. This year, Ilian Bazelinsky, Tatyana Umurzakova, Fyodor Karpachev and Ksenia Krashkevich represented Kazakhstan in Europe.

The best part of the final in Astana was meeting sports legends. In our fan zone, fans met Olympic medalist Yelena Khrustaleva and Paralympic champion Yerbol Khamitov. Yerbol Khamitov personally awarded cash prizes to the winners of the sprint, individual race and overall season champions.

Everyone also enjoyed our laser shooting zone, an interactive photo booth and delicious treats organized by the parents of local athletes.

Our overall champions of the season:

Ilian Bazelinsky (Kostanay Region)

Ksenia Krashkevich (Pavlodar Region)

Pavel Monchenko (Akmola Region)

Varvara Dudina (Kostanay Region)

To support sports in the regions, we gave money certificates to our top five regional teams to buy new equipment:

1st place: East Kazakhstan Region - 3,500,000 ₸

2nd place: Akmola Region - 2,500,000 ₸

3rd place: North Kazakhstan Region - 1,500,000 ₸

4th place: Astana - 1,000,000 ₸

5th place: Pavlodar Region - 700,000 ₸

We also awarded a special prize, "Coach of the Year" and 500,000 tenge to Mariya Korolyova from the Kostanay Region.

GRAND TOUR BIATHLON is becoming a famous sports brand in Kazakhstan. In the future, we plan to make our annual final an international event.

Our main goal is to prepare strong young athletes for our national team. We want to give them modern training facilities and good race experience today, so they can represent Kazakhstan at the Olympic Games in 2030–2034.

The Kazakhstan Biathlon Union expresses our deep thanks to the Ministry of Sport, the Astana Sports Department, our partners, referees, coaches, volunteers and parents!
