The first three stages of the Biathlon World Cup in Sweden, Austria and France have successfully concluded. For our Kazakhstan athletes, these races were not just ordinary competitions, but a step up to a whole new level in the history of our national biathlon. Ahead of the Winter Olympic Games, the national team proved its competitiveness on the global stage and wrapped up the results of the first trimester.
A New Milestone for Kazakhstan Biathlon: A Pre-Olympic Review

The biggest sensation and key achievement of this period took place in Hochfilzen, Austria. In the pursuit race, Vladislav Kireev finished in the Top 20 for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan biathlon at the World Cup, setting a brilliant new national record.

Key Results of the First Three Stages:

1. Our men's relay team took 14th place out of 21 of the strongest teams in the world, showing great teamwork and consistent results.

2.Following the opening stages, two clear leaders have emerged within our team — Vladislav Kireyev and Asset Dyussenov. This gives us a great strategic advantage for tactical planning before the Olympics.

3.The training methods and summer cycle under the guidance of our head coach, Sergey Sokolovskiy, have fully proven their effectiveness. The physical form of our athletes approached peak performance right at the start of the season.

Currently, our national team is in the middle of battle for Olympic quotas. To prepare for this, the team is holding a special training camp in the high-altitude region of Pokljuka, Slovenia. This stage of preparation focuses on recovery and building up strength before the crucial World Cup races that will take place this January in Germany.

"For us, these three stages were the most important test before the Olympics. Our historic results have given us a lot of confidence, but the main goal is still ahead. The battle for Olympic spots will continue until the very last race," noted the head coach of the national team,Maksat Sharanov.
