Shchuchinsk to Host the Asian Summer Biathlon Championships

The Asian Summer Biathlon Championships will take place from August 29 to September 6 at the Olympic Training Center in Shchuchinsk. This was announced by the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union.

Around 200 athletes from 8 Asian countries are expected to compete. The tournament will feature youth, junior, and adult biathletes who regularly race in the World Cup.Athletes will compete for medals in four different disciplines.

As a reminder, Shchuchinsk successfully hosted the Youth and Junior World Championships in March. This event made the Burabay region the main biathlon center on the Asian continent. In the future, Shchuchinsk also plans to host the winter Asian Championships and the summer World Championships.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of the Akmola Region, and the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union.
