At the beginning of the winter season, a new format of the Cup and Championship of Kazakhstan in biathlon for children was introduced, consisting of 6 stages, including 4 winter and 2 summer ones. These competitions brought together different regions, starting from Ridder and Aksai, continuing in Pavlodar, and concluding in Shchuchinsk at the fourth stage. More than 100 children participated in each city, and all the winners and medalists were awarded with trophies and special gifts from the organizers. Additionally, the Federation promised to send the leaders to the homeland of biathlon — Norway, to give children the opportunity to participate and experience the atmosphere of international competitions.

The Norwegian Biathlon Federation allocated 4 quotas to our country for participation in the children's biathlon festival. According to the rules, 2 girls and 2 boys born in 2009 were given the opportunity to participate in the most colorful event in children's sports. The children are accompanied by the winner of the World Cup stage 2017, children's coach from Pavlodar region — Maxim Braun.

The Bendita Liatoppen Biathlon Festival is the largest biathlon competition in the world, with over 1000 participants aged 11 to 16. The festival this year takes place from April 10 to 15. The race marks the end of the winter season for biathletes from all over Norway. The festival will feature individual races and relays, competitions, shows, and prizes.

It is worth reminding that the main goal of organizing the Grand Tour Biathlon is to popularize and develop this sport in the regions, especially in areas where biathlon bases have recently opened, as well as the opening of a children's department in Astana. The festival organizers intend to make these competitions a brand of Kazakhstan biathlon.
