First Time Ever: Kazakhstan’s Top Biathlon Kids Headed to Norway

The tour starts in Ridder, followed by stages in Uralsk, Pavlodar, Shchuchinsk, and Petropavlovsk. The final stage will take place in the central park of the capital city.Young athletes will shoot with pneumatic rifles. Leaders of the rankings will wear special red and yellow leader jerseys and receive custom-designed winner cups.The top 3-5 teams will receive cash certificates to buy new sports equipment. Based on the season's final rankings, the best athletes born in 2008-2010 will win amazing trips:
Norway: A trip to the world's largest youth biathlon festival (April 10-15).
IBU SPORT CAMP: A spot at the international youth sports camp in December.
Domestic Camp: An invitation to a special summer sports camp in Shchuchinsk or Almaty with international experts and professors from Nazarbayev University.
Manas Ussenov, General Secretary of the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union, noted that the main goals of the "Grand Tour Biathlon" are to popularize the sport in the regions and to open a new youth biathlon section in Astana.
