At the beginning of the winter season, the federation started a new 6-stage tournament format (4 winter and 2 summer stages) for children. The competition visited Ridder and Aksay, and the third stage finished in Pavlodar. More than 80 children took part in each stage, and all winners received cups and special gifts.

The Norwegian Biathlon Federation gave 4 quotas to Kazakhstan for this festival. According to the rules, we can send only 2 boys and 2 girls born in 2009. Based on the results of the three stages, four leaders will travel to the Liatoppen festival from April 10 to 15:

Nikita Dudchenko (East Kazakhstan Region)

Maxim Guchinskiy (Akmola Region)

Marina Mishechkina (North Kazakhstan Region)

Zhanerke Tudakhunova (West Kazakhstan Region)

The Bendit Liatoppen Biathlon Festival is the biggest children's biathlon competition in the world. More than 1,000 athletes aged 11 to 16 take part in it. This event marks the end of the winter season in Norway and includes individual races, relays, shows, and prizes.

As a reminder, the main goal of the Grand Tour Biathlon is to develop the sport in different regions, especially where new biathlon centers opened, and to open a children's section in Astana. The organizers want to make this tournament a real brand of national biathlon.
