Golden Jubilee: 50 Years of Akmola Biathlon!

To celebrate this anniversary, the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union held a special ceremony for the people who started it all. Biathlon is not just about skiing and shooting; it is about respecting our history and our teachers. The Federation gave special letters of thanks to the veterans and founders of the sport in the region: Gennady Petrovich Makarov, Viktor Vladimirovich Churbakov, Vladimir Petrovich Sizukhin, Yuriy Gavrilovich Vikulov (Senior Coach of the region).  These mentors are living legends. In the cold winds and snow of the steppe, they built the character of future athletes and taught them discipline and the will to win.

The most important moment of the celebration was a special gift. The veterans received a  professional racing jersey from the World Cup.The jersey has the words: "Akmola – 50 Years." This gift shows the strong connection between the local sport and the success of Kazakhstan athletes on the world stage.

Akmola region is famous for its "strong spirit." The local school has given our country many masters of sport, Olympic athletes, and Asian Games winners. Today, looking back at 50 years, we can say: Akmola biathlon is not just alive; it is growing stronger. Happy Anniversary, Akmola Biathlon! May every shot hit the target, and every trail lead to a new record!
