Summer Asian Biathlon Championships Finish in Shchuchinsk: Team Kazakhstan Wins 27 Medals
The Summer Asian Biathlon Championships have concluded at the Olympic Training Center in Shchuchinsk. The competition gathered 185 athletes from 7 countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.
The championship lasted two days: athletes competed in sprint races on the first day and individual races on the second day. All races were broadcast live on the federation’s YouTube channel, Qaz Biathlon.
On the first day of the championship, an awarding ceremony was also held for Paralympic champion Yerbol Khamitov and his coaching team. They received cash certificates in recognition of their historic victory at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games.
Over the two days of competition, Team Kazakhstan took top position in the overall medal standings, winning a total of 27 medals (7 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze) across all age groups, from youth to adult categories. All full race results are available in the official rankings.
