Kazakhstan Biathlon Union awards money certificates to Paralympic champion Yerbol Khamitov and his coaches

Khamitov himself received a certificate worth 2,000,000 tenge for his historic win at the Paralympic Games in Italy. His personal coach, Anton Zhdanovich, who has trained him for years, received 1,000,000 tenge. Vassiliy Kolomiyets, head coach of Kazakhstan's para-biathlon team, also received 1,000,000 tenge for his role in preparing the team for the Games.

As a reminder, in March 2026 Yerbol Khamitov won gold in the pursuit race at the Winter Paralympic Games in Milan–Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy. It was Kazakhstan's first-ever Paralympic gold medal in biathlon.

President Yermek Kizatov said the award shows the Union's commitment to recognizing outstanding results and supporting Para-sport.

"Yerbol's gold medal is the result of years of hard work by him and his coaches. It's important for our Union to recognize such achievements and support the people behind them. This is our contribution to developing Para-sport and an inspiration for future champions," said Yermek Kizatov.
