Biathlon Season Officially Open: The Kazakhstan Cup Kicks Off

The biathlon season in Kazakhstan is officially open! Stage I of the Biathlon Cup of Kazakhstan has kicked off at our National Winter Sports Center in Shchuchinsk. More than 100 athletes from 9 regions of the country are competing for the first medals of the season and a chance to prove themselves.

Today, November 27, the Cup program featured sprint races. Despite challenging weather conditions, the biathletes demonstrated a high level of preparation.

Among the men, Evgeniy Litvinov (East Kazakhstan Region) captured the gold medal, Danil Dudko (Akmola Region) took home the silver, and Vladislav Malykov (Akmola Region) secured the bronze.

In the junior category, Ilyas Khasenov (Aktobe Region) became the winner, Trofim Kolomin (East Kazakhstan Region) took second place, and Ivan Belenets (Akmola Region) finished third.

Among the women, Yana Chupik (Almaty Region) won a hard-fought victory. The second and third places went to athletes from the Akmola Region: Salina Maier captured the silver, and Arina Kupriyanova became the bronze medalist.

In the junior women's standings, Anastasiya Khvoshchenok (Akmola Region) crossed the finish line first. Evelina Rybalkina (East Kazakhstan Region) won the silver medal, and her teammate, Milena Mashkovskaya (East Kazakhstan Region), took third place.

The competition will continue tomorrow, November 28, where the biathletes will hit the track again for another round of sprint races. Stay tuned!
