Gold for Kazakhstan! Nikita Akimov Wins the Sprint in Italy

He finished the race with an amazing time of 23 minutes and 14 seconds, leaving 49 competitors behind. Nikita showed perfect shooting form on both stages, hitting all targets cleanly without a single mistake, and confidently finished in 1st place. Knut Waekstroem from Sweden took the silver medal, and Bogdan Borkovskyi from Ukraine won the bronze.

This victory is the very first international medal in Nikita's career and the third gold medal for our Kazakhstan team at this Universiade. This success is highly important, especially since Akimov is playing only his second season with the adult national team.

This big win gives a lot of confidence to our entire National Team right before the upcoming Winter Asian Games in Harbin, which will take place from February 7 to 14.
