Historic Triumph: Yerbol Khamitov has won Paralympic gold for Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has reached a new milestone in the history of world sports. Yerbol Khamitov, the leader of the national Paralympic biathlon and cross-country skiing team, has won the gold medal at the Winter Paralympic Games.

In biathlon, every second and every shot counts. Yerbol was incredibly strong during the 4.5 km race. He shot perfectly at the first station and made only one mistake at the second. Even with that one miss, his speed was so high that his rivals couldn't catch him. He finished first with a great lead.
This is Yerbol’s second medal at these Games (he already won a "bronze" in skiing) and he is the first athlete in Kazakhstan's history to win a Paralympic gold specifically in para-biathlon.
This victory is the result of hard work and a very strong spirit. Congratulations to our champion and the whole team!
Alga, Kazakhstan!
