Points are awarded only in individual races, such as the sprint and individual events. The number of points given depends on how many competitors are in the race. For example, if there are 30 participants, the athlete who finishes in 30th place receives 1 point, while the winner receives 30 points. After each race, the points are totaled, and the athlete with the highest score becomes the leader and wears a red bib.
If two or more athletes have the same number of points during the middle stages of the competition, the athlete who performed better in the final sprint is prioritized. In the last stage of the competition, points from all stages are combined. If athletes end up with the same total points, they are ranked according to their overall score. In some cases, there may be multiple winners, and all will receive prizes and trophies.
