About project

We are building the future of sport!

Grand Tour Biathlon is a big project by the Kazakhstan Biathlon Union. Our goal is to grow youth sports and make biathlon popular among kids. The tour has 5 stages: 3 in winter and 2 in summer. We hold races in different cities, with the big final in Astana (capital)

Last season we had a record 200 participants! To make it feel like the big leagues, we follow the IBU World Cup format. Overall leaders wear Yellow bibs and win Crystal Globes, while sprint and individual winners get Red bibs for their next race.

At every stage, the winners receive gifts from our Swiss partner, KV+. After the final in Astana, the TOP-5 teams get money certificates to buy new sports gear for their home regions. We also award the Best Kids coach of the season a money prize of 500.000 tenge (1000)

For three years, our winners have traveled to Norway for Liatoppen-the world’s biggest biathlon festival for kids. It’s a fantastic opportunity to race internationally and make new friends.

You can watch our races  live  on our YouTube channel, "Qaz Biathlon". We also offer fun interactive activities for fans, where you can try laser rifle shooting and win prizes!

Two years ago, we opened a kids' biathlon section in Astana. To lead the program, we invited two young coaches who are both former National Team athletes. Now, more than 90 kids train regularly in Astana’s Central Park for free!

We want Grand Tour Biathlon to be a famous brand and a world-class event. By 2026, we want to reach 500 participants. We are building a strong future for Kazakhstan’s National Team. We give young athletes the best training and international experience.

Our goal is to raise champions who will fight for Olympic medals in 2030-2034!
