Grand Tour Biathlon Season 3 Starts in Ridder!

The city of Ridder hosted a giant sports festival to start the third season of the Grand Tour Biathlon (GTB). This is the biggest kids' biathlon series in the country. This season, we have 170 young athletes from 10 regions. For the first time, teams from Astana and Aktobe joined the competition! The first two days were full of excitement with Sprint and Individual races.

Race Results

Sprint Races:

Boys (2011–2012): Fedor Karpachev (East Kazakhstan) took 1st place.

Boys (2013–2014): Genadiy Zonov (Abai Region) won gold. David Spodin and Ramil Sarsembaev (Ridder) took 2nd and 3rd.

Girls (2011–2012): Amili Kharis (Kostanay) won 1st place.

Girls (2013–2015): Varvara Dudina (Kostanay) took the lead.




Individual Races:

Boys (2013–2014): Genadiy Zonov won his second gold medal!

Boys (2011–2012): Ilian Bazilinskiy (Kostanay) took 1st place.

Girls (2013–2015): Varvara Dudina remained undefeated in 1st place.

Girls (2011–2012): Ksenia Krashkevich (Pavlodar) won the gold medal.

Winners received cool prizes from our partner KV+. Athletes in 4th, 5th, and 6th place received official GTB mascots (toys) because every participant is important to us!

Fans watched the races live on our YouTube channel, "Qaz Biathlon." We also had a laser rifle lottery and new GTB merchandise for the fans in Ridder.

Schedule change

Because of the weather, the  Relay was moved to tomorrow. To keep the kids safe and comfortable, the coaches decided to make the race distances shorter. Good luck to everyone!

Next stop:Kostanay!

The second stage of the Grand Tour Biathlon will be in February. It will take place in Kostanay, which is hosting this event for the very first time. We can’t wait to see you there!
