Biathlon World Cup: Two of Our Athletes Qualify for the Pursuit Race

Today, the second stage of the Biathlon World Cup kicked off in Hochfilzen, Austria, with the sprint races. Vladislav Kireyev, Asset Dyussenov, and Vadim Kurales competed for our men's team.

Following the results of the race, Vladislav Kireyev and Asset Dyussenov broke into the Top 60, successfully securing their spots in tomorrow's pursuit race. Vladislav Kireyev crossed the finish line in 33rd place, +1 minute 42 seconds behind the race winner, Tommaso Giacomel of Italy. Asset Dyussenov finished 53rd, with a gap of +2 minutes 04 seconds. Both of our athletes missed only one target on the shooting range.

It was a tough race for Vadim Kurales today. He missed two targets at each shooting stage and finished 97th, +3 minutes 48 seconds behind the leader.

Tomorrow, our biathletes will compete in the pursuit race. According to the competition rules, the athletes will start the race with the exact same time gaps behind the winner as they finished in today's sprint.
